The new Mojo🔥 AI programming language combines the usability of Python with the performance of C, with claims of speeds up to 35000x faster than Python, according to the website.
Mojo also lets you write everything in one language, without needing to “rely on C, Rust, or other performant language wrappers for specifically performant sections of code (i.e. inner loops)," says Jessica Wachtel at The New Stack.
“Those are bold claims,” notes Serdar Yegulalp at InfoWorld, and “since Mojo is still in the very early stages of development, it will be some time before users can see for themselves how the language lives up to them.”
Mojo is still a work in progress, the website states, but you can get started by running through tutorials and writing your own code in the JupyterHub-based Playground.
