Linux Kernel Moving to Modern C

The Linux kernel is built on the old C89 standard of C, but Linus Torvalds has decided to upgrade to the more modern C11 standard, reports Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols.

The move to a newer language standard addresses a potential security problem, and, barring unforeseen issues, should be a relatively easy transition.
