5 Things That Don’t Belong on Your Resumé in 2022

It’s time to update your resumé and tailor it specifically to the role you're applying for, says Erica Rivera, a senior recruiter at Google.

As a recruiter, Rivera has screened thousands of resumés, and she recently offered some practical career advice on TikTok. For example, she says, the following items no longer need to be included on your resumé:

  • Complete address (city and state are sufficient)
  • Objective statement (just leave it out)
  • Entire career history (focus on recent, relevant experience)
