Google to Limit API Access in Chromium

Google plans to limit access to many Chrome APIs within the open source Chromium web browser as of March 15, 2021, meaning Chromium users won’t be able to use popular services built on those APIs. 

The decision has alienated Linux code maintainers and developers as well as users, reports Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols, who see it not as a security measure but as a way to force usage of proprietary Chrome.
