The latest Java Development Kit (JDK) provides updates with seven JDK Enhancement Proposals (JEPs), Kerner explains, which mainly advance three projects:
- Project Amber, which is about evolution of the Java language itself and syntax
- Project Loom, which is about scalability
- Project Panama, which is about interoperability with other languages
Java 20, another incremental release, is expected in March 2023, and Java 21, a long-term support release, is scheduled for September 2023 and will be supported for five years.
