Meow Attacks Target Unsecured Databases

More than 1,000 unsecured databases have been deleted in an ongoing attack that leaves behind the word “meow,” according to a report from Ars Technica.

The attacks appeared to mainly target ElasticSearch databases, as “a Shodan computer search site showed that 987 ElasticSearch and 70 MongoDB instances had been nuked by Meow.”
