Red Hat’s legal team and Open Source Program Office have published new Open Source Participation Guidelines.
Red Hat’s Brian Proffitt says the guidelines “reflect the values and culture of Red Hat in the most appropriate way possible: a collaboration of many associates working toward a common goal, documenting how Red Hat is committed to contributing to any free and open source project in the most collaborative ways possible.”
The resource covers topics such as:
- What is open source?
- Participating in open source activities
- Upstream first
- Starting new open source projects
The guidelines are available from Red Hat as well as on GitHub under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
