Ubuntu Core Linux 20 Released

Canonical has released Ubuntu Core Linux 20 with an emphasis on built-in security. With this release, “Canonical has gone to great pains to make Ubuntu Core 20 the most secure IoT and embedded Linux available on the market today,” reports Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols.

The Ubuntu Core container OS is built on snaps. And, according to the datasheet, “With snaps, embedded systems benefit from security, immutability, as well as modularity and composability.” Additionally, Canonical plans long-term support for Ubuntu Core, delivering kernel patches and bug fixes continuously for up to 10 years.
